About the North Hills Community Baptist Church

Our Mission

churchOur mission is to advance the Kingdom of God and to be the Body of Christ.  We serve God individually and together through:

  • Seeking and following the direction of the Holy Spirit
  • Living our lives as exemplified by Jesus Christ
  • Worshiping God
  • Sharing the good news of God’s love and forgiveness
  • Teaching God’s word and making disciples
  • Serving the people God brings into our lives

Our Vision

The Vision of the North Hills Community Baptist Church is to build upon the Body of Christ by growing together, reaching others and gathering followers.

Baptists do not use a creed to which every member must subscribe. The sole authority for our faith and practice is the Bible itself. Years ago, a Christian scholar affirmed this principle: “In essentials, unity. In non-essentials, liberty. In all things, charity.” This is a fitting motto for the North Hills Community Baptist Church.

A summary of the distinctive beliefs of Baptists is arranged in the following acrostic:

  • Bible as sole authority
  • Autonomy of each local congregation
  • Priesthood of all believers
  • The value of religious liberty
  • Immersion of believers as a symbol of faith
  • Salvation by faith alone
  • Telling others about Christ
