Welcome to the North Hills Community Baptist Church
From the Pastor
North Hills Community Baptist Church is a fellowship of many different people, from diverse backgrounds, tied together by our faith in Jesus Christ. We stretch from McCandless to Mars, from Pittsburgh to Pine, and from West View to Wexford. In fact, over 20 different zip codes are represented by the membership of the church. Our youth group represents six different school districts in the Pittsburgh area.
With all the diversity and distance represented in the congregation, our name is truly descriptive of what we are: a community in Christ. The Greek word for “church” means “to be called out from.” The people of the North Hills Community Baptist Church have been called out from all walks of life from all over Pittsburgh to be the body of Christ in this place. Throughout the week we gather for worship, education and fellowship. We engage in a full schedule—Bible studies, choirs, prayer groups, dinners, youth groups, mission work. The building on the corner of Thompson Run and McIntyre is the center of our congregation’s life. But the other hours of the week find the church scattered throughout Western Pennsylvania and beyond. The people of this church go to school, to work, clean homes and raise families. But all that we do is inspired by the knowledge that we are a new creation. We have been claimed by Jesus Christ, and life will never be the same again.
I’m privileged to be the pastor of this church. For the past twenty years we have grown together in Christ. I invite you to join us as we grow together.
In Christ, Pastor Tim
