There is a simplicity in this morning’s gospel story. Writer Ann Lamott writes, “Here are the two best prayers I know: “Help me, help me, help me” and “Thank you, thank you, thank you.” In this morning’s scripture, a man named Bartimaeus reminds us that regardless of the inscrutable portions of the Bible and the deep theology we don’t understand, when we need God…we just say ‘help!’
