Many of us have spent years in church. When I tell people that I am reading a new book about the bible they sometimes say, “How can anyone say something new about the Bible? It’s 2,000 years old!” As much as we learn, as often as we meditate on God’s words, there is a sense in which we don’t understand just how challenging it it to be a disciple of Jesus Christ.
